Cats inspire us!  For centuries - even since cave art days - cats have been depicted in art.  We're here to celebrate that - and our favorite cat artist of all time, Louis Wain. In his honor, we're hosting a show of YOUR cat art!  Entry is FREE, and your pieces can also be listed for sale!  At our first Cat Fest in Denver, 40% of the art sold! Share your cat art with us!

Note:  There is no advance submission*, no online form, no jury process. Just bring your cat art to the National Western on Saturday  between 1:00 - 4:30 pm! And be sure to follow the guidelines below.  :)
*If you can’t drop off the Saturday before the show, we have added an additional drop-off time on Sunday, Nov. 3 between 12-4 pm at Kanon Collective, 6501 W. Colfax Ave, Lakewood - in the front of the Casa Bonita shopping center!

Who's Louis Wain?
You might not know the name, but you've probably seen his artwork. Not only did he produce an astounding array of whimsical (and later, psychedelic) cat art, Louis Wain singlehandedly changed the way the world viewed cats!  In 1800s Europe and North America, cats were not inside pets. They stayed outside and foraged for small rodents and birds. A LOT has changed since then, and we owe much of it to Louis Wain!  Google him!  Or even better - watch The Electric Life of Louis Wain on Amazon Prime Video! It's a great telling of Wain's life, including his spiraling mental illness, starring the magnificent Benedict Cumberbatch!
